Zone 5 Launches “myfriendsposter.com” Social Commerce Site
We’re proud to announce the launch of myfriendsposter.com, a social commerce site that creates thumbnail mosaic posters generated from the profile pictures of a Facebook user’s friends.
Myfriendsposter.com features a shampoo-simple three step process where users create a custom poster by connecting to the Facebook application via the website, choose the poster size and checkout.
“We wanted the site to be simple, efficient and fun. And we had all of the capabilities and personalities in-house to make it work,” noted Spencer Raggio, Zone 5’s Web Strategist. He added, “Since we didn’t need to outsource any part of this, we were able to go from concept to completed app and website in less than a month.”
Social commerce is currently dominated by Facebook, with more than 750 million active users spending over 700 billion minutes a month on the site. And every month, a third of those users engage with Facebook across more than 2.5 million external websites.
“Social media and the rise of social commerce have become the new marketing frontier. Like many other agencies, we’ve adapted our business model and built the teams and services that the market demanded from us. We’ve now taken that one step further and built our own social commerce site. In essence, we’ve become our own client,” said Paul Fahey, Zone 5’s Chief Operating Officer.
